This page will be updated as we add notes during the meeting
From reading the thread on the forums, the conclusions that we came to about each of the options based of the comments where:
Solution 1
Global damage indicators
Arguments For
- Requires installing a modification, which not everyone can (or can be bothered to)
Arguments Against
- Encourages stalling / camping if you know everyone's health
- May encourage "cleaning"
Solution 2
Not being able to see health, even with a client
Arguments For
- Choosing battles is part of the process of PvP - when to start and when to not approach people is part of the challenge.
- Damage indicators takes into account the saturation, so you know you shouldn't fight them if their saturation is high
- Need to take risks when fighting an even fight.
Arguments Against
- People using LabyMod on CubeCraft will get annoyed as the client will not work as intended if they have Damage Indicators installed
Notes
- Bedrock & Java divide: This was discussed, and we believe the best solution would be that both networks would receive the same update.
- Would it show everyone when you get hit or only the person who hit you?: It would only show the health of the person you hit. If someone hits you, you can't see their health.
